Trams operate from the Metro Centre based in Wednesbury - Head Office for Travel Midland Metro 58 tram drivers (of whom 4 are women) are trained in personal track safety, customer care and practical techniques All staff based at the Metro Centre regularly drive trams - including 4 female administration staff and the Senior Management team 122 employees work at the Metro Centre, including Duty Managers, Controllers, engineers and drivers A team of 1 sergeant and 12 constables from the British Transport Police were appointed by Travel Midland Metro to provide 24 hour cover for the system. The team is based at the Metro Centre Travel West Midlands, part of National Express Group, has integrated the Metro with local bus and train services along the route where possible.
